Alabama Elite's goal is to provide: fundamental skills that will aid players in their young basketball careers, knowledge of the game and what it takes to persevere on every level of that career, and a mind & body skill set that will allow that career to flourish beyond grade school.
Alabama Elite Club Basketball was founded by its Director, Mike Ellen.  He started this basketball club in 1999 to lift and aid girls in the sport of basketball in the North Alabama region of the state.  Alabama Elite competes in Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) sanctioned tournaments, Youth Basketball of America (YBOA) sanctioned tournaments, American Youth Basketball Association (AYBA) sanctioned tournaments, United States Basketball Association (USBA) sanctioned tournaments, and numerous other tournaments in the South Eastern region.  Over the years, Alabama Elite has won several AAU & YBOA Alabama State tournaments, two college exposure tournaments, and an YBOA National Championship.  Alabama Elite has also had several players sign college scholarships.
The motto of Alabama Elite is "The Tradition Continues...".  Mike Ellen and his staff of volunteers are committed to this motto and the continued success of the club.  He continues to live by this motto by providing winter league play for youth, hosting skills clinincs and camps, bringing in talented professionals to showcase their basketball teachings, hosting and managing Spring & Summer tournaments, providing quality coaches for his club teams, and tirelessly giving of his own free time to his current and former club players; That is the vision of Alabama Elite Club Basketball.
